With a naturally artistic eye and creative ability combined with a practical knowledge and passion for gardening, Rob Witt created Contrast Gardens.

Rob Witt grew up on a farm in the New Forest. Working outside and with nature has always been a big part of his life so after graduating from Nottingham University in 2003 he set about creating his dream business. The farm was great but it wasnt enough to satisfy Robs creative side and sense for adventure and new challenges. Now, faced with new and exciting challenges everyday, in varied locations and being able to exhibit his creativity Rob has made Contrast Gardens of Wollaton one of the leading Landscapers in Nottingham

Why Contrast Gardens?

For me, contrast and balance are the most important artistic elements to consider when creating a garden, it must of course be practical too. When we contrast we get impact and when we balance we get softness. Knowing how to acheive this and what to use to balance an area or create focal points and wow with contrast is the skill. I believe this is fundemental in acheiving what you want out of a garden. Contrast I am drawn to because to see it everywhere. Light and dark, hot and cold, hard and soft, fast and slow, positive and negative. It is universal.
